Kinross Charter Township Emergency Medical Services

was founded in 1979. In 1998 the service area and response volume grew;
exceeding what was reasonable for a volunteer organization to maintain.

Kinross Emergency Medical Services(KEMS) is a full time , Advanced Life Support (ALS) agency. Our 911 service area includes Kinross, Kincheloe, Rudyard, Dafter, Pickford, Raber, Bruce Twp and Smithers Winter Test Center. Kinross Emergency Medical Services provides professionally trained and State licensed EMT's, AEMT's and Paramedics. We respond to emergencies with local Fire Departments, Law Enforcement and EMS mutual aid requests. We transport emergency patients to hospitals in Chippewa and Mackinac Counties.

 

          In addition to 911 emergency response, we also provide ALS intercepts to our neighboring Basic Life Support (BLS) EMS agencies. We currently operate 5 ALS, 1 BLS & 1 LALS ambulance.  We provide interfacility transfers for specialty care services not provided at our local hospitals. Kinross Charter Township Emergency Medical Services has been a leader in pre-hospital care for many years. We believe in providing quality patient care and customer service to all areas that we serve.
